Block Coding
Block Coding is a first taste of real programming. Your child snaps blocks into a program, presses Run and watches Owlie follow it step by step, with the running block lit. When Owlie bumps into a rock, the program needs a fix: that is debugging, and it is half of coding.

What your child learns
- A program is steps in order
- Repeat: do the same steps again and again
- If: let the program decide
- Functions: teach a move once, use it twice
How to play
Tap blocks to add them where the violet slot is; tap a block to put the slot after it, or × to take it out. Tap the number on a repeat block to change it. Press Run: Owlie walks the grid and the running block lights up. Fewer blocks than squares means it is time for repeat.
Levels
- Level 1Move forward, turn left and turn right to reach the apple.
- Level 2Repeat: long paths with only a few blocks.
- Level 3Repeat until the apple, if a rock is ahead, and a hop of your own.
A tip for parents
Ask your child to read the program aloud before pressing Run and guess where Owlie will stop. Guessing first is how programmers think.
Works on phones, tablets and computers, with nothing to install. No ads and no tracking.
