Dots & Boxes
Dots & Boxes is the game children play on squared paper, now with Owlie. Each turn draws one line between two dots. Draw the fourth side of a box and it is yours, and you go again. The trick is not giving your opponent the third side.

What your child learns
- Counting the sides of a square
- Thinking about what the other player will do
- Spotting chains of boxes
- Fair play and taking turns
How to play
Tap the gap between two dots. Close a box to keep it and draw again. The hint button lights a line that gives nothing away. When every line is drawn, whoever has more boxes wins.
Levels
- Level 13 × 3 boxes; Owlie takes any box she can.
- Level 24 × 4; Owlie never gives a box away if she can help it.
- Level 35 × 5; when she must give boxes away, Owlie gives the fewest.
A tip for parents
After a game, ask which line gave the boxes away. Spotting the third side is the whole strategy.
