Recycling Sort

A newspaper, a yogurt pot, a jam jar, a banana peel: where does each one go? Your child drags it into the right bin, and Owlie says what it will become: new paper, new bottles, new glass, soil for plants.

Recycling Sort, a screen from the game

What your child learns

  • What things are made of: paper, plastic, glass, food
  • Sorting waste into the right bin
  • Why we recycle, in one short line per bin
  • Care for the planet, in everyday steps

How to play

Drag the thing into a bin with a finger or the mouse, or just tap the bin. If it’s the wrong bin, Owlie asks what the thing is made of. Bin colours differ from country to country, so each bin has its name written on it.

Levels

  1. Level 1Two bins: paper and plastic.
  2. Level 2Glass too: jars and bottles.
  3. Level 3Four bins: food waste too, like a banana peel or an apple core.

A tip for parents

Sort the rubbish together at home and let your child find the right bin. Which of your bins has a name on it, and what colour is it?
