What your child learns

  • Shapes: triangles, a square and a parallelogram
  • Turning and flipping shapes in your head
  • Patience and trying again

How to play

Drag a piece into the shape and it snaps into the nearest place where it fits; any way of filling the shape counts. A tap turns a piece; a flip button mirrors the parallelogram. Tap a placed piece to send it back.

Levels

  1. Level 1Simple shapes, with lines showing the pieces.
  2. Level 2Animals and things, no lines.
  3. Level 3The pieces start turned.

A tip for parents

Cut a tangram from cardboard and make your own figures: a cat, a house, a person running.
